Dedication to the lovely Bugg!

Last week I had the privilege of attending my uncle Wally's birthday.  My family  (Parents, Jacob and Becca,  baby Micah, and myself)  arrived a little late, but we did indeed arrive to wish him a happy birthday!   For some of my beloved family, this was the first time they were able to see my new baby nephew, Micah.

This is the darling baby Micah :)

Anyway, we all had a wonderful time chatting and just being with each other.  At some point during the night my dear cousin "Bugg" informed me that I hadn't written on my blog in quite some time.  We jokingly bickered back and forth, saying that we were going to dedicate a blog post to each other.  Whether or not she was joking,  I was being completely serious.  :)

So.... I, Belle, hereby dedicate this post to Bugg!

She's not gonna like me for this picture!                               On vacation :)

Many of you know this wonderful young lady.  She is my second cousin, but as we get older I feel like we are becoming more like sisters.  Bugg has many talents and amazing qualities such as being a wonderful big sister, playing the violin, creating masterpieces in the kitchen, and being a super reader and writer. Her most important quality or characteristic, though, is the fact that she is a daughter of Christ and on fire for her Savior!  Watching Bugg grow up I have seen the Lord work in her life.  He has molded and sculpted every part of her, from her spunky and quirky personality to her caring, "mother hen" attributes.  ... I love you Bugg and am so thankful for you!

Love, Belle

In a Rut..

Lately I've been struggling with motivation in my life.  This applies to my quiet times with the Lord,  work,  school,  working out,  etc.  I will have a set plan in my head of what I want to accomplish in my day,  but when that time comes I either make an excuse not to do it or I totally forget.  Talk about lazy and being an airhead!

It can become so overwhelming at times when I can't figure out how to organize my life.  My personality type is that I like to have everything figured out and known ahead of time.   ..Isn't that ironic?  I like to know what the future holds,  yet I can't get myself to be motivated in order to accomplish all of those "hopes and dreams."  Some days I believe I just need a good slap across the face,  aka "wake up call."
Is the Lord trying to teach me something through all of this 'unknown'?
"O our God ... We do not know what to do, but our eyes are on you."  -2 Chron. 20: 12
God has a plan for everything that happens and I know this, but I find myself constantly forgetting this truth.  HE should be my motivation!  ... My ONLY motivation!!!   We are here on this Earth to bring Him honor and glory.  So when I read my Bible,  sing,  go to work,  go to school,  work out,  it should be because I want to give Him all the glory for my ability to do and accomplish all of those things.

Christ is and should always be the center of our lives, "I have been crucified with Christ;  it is no longer I who live,  but Christ lives in me;  and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God,  who loved me and gave Himself for me."  - Galatians  2: 20

Please pray that I can remember my one true source of motivation each and every day.  I pray that you remember it too!  Have a great weekend!

Oh my goodness everyone!  I have not written on here for a very long time and am very truly sorry!  I could say that I have just been too busy to post anything but that would be a lie ..... BUT ... the good thing is that I'm posting this right now,  obviously.  And will continue to try and keep posting every few days.

Well HAPPY POST TURKEY DAY!  Our family had a very laid back day brother and dad went out to our new house ( that we are currently renovating ) for the morning,  my mom went and helped a friend with her house for a bit,  and I was at home baking!  heeehee.....I love baking!  I don't know what it is,  but baking just makes me happy.  Especially when others love it and think it is delicious!  Anyway though,  so after everyone came home,  we all got dressed and ready and then went to pick up my grandparents.  >>> Funny story time... while we were waiting for my grandparents to get to the car my phone turned off   ( lets just say that it constantly does this and I need to get a new one! ) and when it turned back on it locks itself but has an emergency call button.  Well not realizing that this was all happening... I must have hit that emergency call button and MY PHONE CALLED 911.  When I finally saw what was going on,  I quickly tried to end the call,  but sure enough the dispatch lady called me back to make sure everything was okay.  So embarrassing but she had a good laugh about it...said that she was glad nothing was wrong and wished me a very happy Thanksgiving.  :) <<<<...

Okay back to Thanksgiving... so after picking up my grandparents,  we drove out to see our new house in Ponca.  If you would have seen the place when we first got it you would not even believe your eyes if you saw it now!!  It is so stinkin' beautiful!  I always seem to forget how much I love it out there until I go and visit again.  The countryside is so breath-taking and brings tears to my eyes at the beauty of everything and knowing that OUR GREAT GOD designed all of it. ...can you say WOW???!?!?!

Here are a couple of pictures from my dad's profile on facebook... if you would like to see more photos just go to his page... Thomas S. Bell  :)

This is the house before we did anything drastic to it ...the slots for the new windows are cut out but nothing else is really done in this picture... I didn't like nasty yellow siding ..icky!

This was the "mid-process" ... kind of.  The good thing was that the "icky"  siding was down.. new windows.
By the way,  this is the back of the house in both pictures.

This is the window for my room!  Funny thing is that this used to be the garage!  hahah...but now it is going to be my lovely bedroom.  It's actually bigger than the one I have now which is ironic since this house is smaller than our house now.

The siding is now up in these pictures and there is now a DECK!  It is huge and gorgeous! Since these pictures, we've added a huge garage which is behind the house,  more concrete for our driveway,  the electric was put in, the tile in the entry way and kitchen, my dad and Logan put up a swing ( which brings back SO many memories)...a fire pit ( We'll be fighting on who has the bonfires now O'Halloran Family  But the biggest thing was that our new kitchen cabinets came in on Wednesday and they are beautiful!

OKAY!! ...sorry I got really sidetracked but yes.. we went and showed my grandparents the house,  and then we all went to eat at Green Gables over in Sioux City for dinner.  Becca and Jacob joined us which was fun.  She is really started to show more.. and I was told that she is now 24 weeks along.  They do have a name but I won't tell you that till the baby is born.  :)  sorry!

Well this has been a super long post but I hope that you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Alright so like many of you know, my brother Jacob and his wife, Becca, are expecting!  The glorious due date is on March 9th....I think.  BUT! is a very important day because she is 20 weeks and which, if you don't know, is the official point where a person is able to see what the baby's gender is going to be.  At 2:30p.m. they are going in for the appointment and are having an ultra-sound done.  Of course you know the choices are...

( and yes I will be buying them a big bow like this if they have a girl )

 A BOY :)

We all have thought from very early on that it was going to be a boy, but today we will know for sure.  Don't get mad, though, if I don't let you guys know right away.  Cause I don't want to intrude on Jacob and Becca spilling their happy news to everyone.....but I will let you know eventually :)

Impatient for Patience

Oh how that title is so true. The phrase "patience is a virtue" immediately comes to mind. Patience is just not an easy thing to grasp and live out. It's something that we all struggle with at some point in our lives. I, for one, would consider myself the most impatient individual of all. Even though the Lord is teaching me, through different situations, to be more patient, IT'S STILL TOUGH! It can get so bad to the point that I, instead of waiting on the Lord to work, try and fix things or make things happen by myself. Of course this either makes the situation worse or completely ruins everything. Its quite horrible...ha!
So...I was doing some research and found this article that John Piper wrote..  ....God works in such mysterious ways. It is such a fight of faith to just take a step back ..analyze a situation...and calmly say, "God I know you have a plan for this, and I'm going to patiently wait on you."... (Psalm 37:7; 40:1)... This is especially hard today when society is pushing for individuals to "have it all figured out" and to know what their future is going to hold for them. The answer might seem too simple, but it's the only answer that there is: pray and trust in the Lord. Trust that He is a sovereign God and that everything that happens is in His plan and is for a purpose... To glorify Himself. Oh ladies and gentleman, I'm preaching to myself. I have to constantly remind myself of this truth EVERYDAY!
So fight this battle with me ... seeking God in not only prayer but by reading His word.

James 1: 2-4 .."Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith prouduces steadfastness. And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing."

Starting Off!!!

Hi! First of all my name is Belle (obviously not my real name). I'm 18 years old and a freshman in college. I'm currently attending a community and living at home with my parents...but plan on transfering to a Christian school down in Kentucky, but I'll go into more detail about that later :) ....So to be honest, I really got the idea of having a blog from a lot of my friends and family that have their owns blogs. I also love to write, so the idea of being able to share my thoughts and feelings with others sounded like an awesome idea!
So.......this is my blog! A lot of what I write on here is going to be what God is teaching me as I go through this crazy life. General things...more personal and "deeper level" topics...but also just funny, crazy randomness! I hope you enjoy reading :)
